It’s book launch day! Time to welcome Happy Mamas into the world! Thanks to our wonderful illustrator, Ruth E. Harper for her beautiful illustrations that perfectly capture those blissful moments of motherhood. Thanks to our publisher, CWLA – The Child Welfare of America, who do so much to help all those children and youth who are vulnerable and at risk in our world! And thanks to all of you – our readers – we hope that you will delight in reading this book to a little one and that it will give you some time to give thanks to all those who “mothered” your goodness.
At one time, we had hoped to make our book launch coincide with Mother’s Day in May, but when that didn’t work out, we settled for October – a month where we also celebrate Halloween. You might not think there is a connection between Halloween and a book like this that celebrates mothering, but there is!
As I mention every year around this time, the word Halloween, literally means – Holy Evening – a time where we celebrate the triumph of Good over Evil, and of course, the job of all mothers is to – mother goodness in our little ones and in the world, a job that certainly brings its share of heartbreaks and hurts, but also some of the happiest moments of our lives.
The first idea that a child must acquire is that of the difference between good and evil.
